Good morning!

Here she is, my daughter Christine, who has come to rescue me and Pat and give a boost to our morale.   We have had such a good time and are enjoying having her right here.   On her way to Coos Bay last week she and Pat stopped off at the kitchen store and she found several items of interest.  One was two long 'metal' strings that are the latest gadget for kabobs.    We made them up yesterday with all the right ingredients, huge mushrooms, red onions, red peppers, big chunks of chicken that had been marinated in a tasty mixture and then grilled.   Yeah!!!!   Delicious.   The new kabob holder is a keeper as it worked very well.   I made up Pat's favorite potato salad and another mixture of vegies done up in a bit of vinegar with a touch of olive oil and sugar.     Maggie came to join us, so we had good company and a very delectable dinner.   Our first cook out of the summer and a promise of a few more hopefully with a bit of sunshine.  Yesterday stayed cool and overcast itching to rain but it didn't.   Well, it did in the middle of the night so I don't have to get out there and water the plants.

This picture has been around before, but it never ceases to amaze me.  Can it be that God is holding the sun high in the sky, or parting the clouds to let the sunshine in?  Is it a sign of hope that after darkness comes light . . . my what one picture can do.    I think it is a beautiful and  it reminds me of lighting a candle  . . . that is all it takes, one little candle to light the way.   I watched an inspiration film about nature this morning, from "Simple Truths".  What a wonderful way to start a day.   The pictures sooth the soul and give you a feeling of contentment.       Wish I could put it on for you to see so that you could start your day off with positive thoughts and feelings.

So today,  Monday, yes, Monday the start of a brand new week.    It's mid June and Flag Day is Tuesday so be sure you put out your flag.    Our local newspaper includes a paper one in the weekend edition so we can be sure to have a flag showing all over town.    Freddys has a big display of red, white and blue flowers out in front of the store for sale.    I might just go over there and buy a few for one of the containers out front.  They wont last long but at least they will show some patriotic spirit for a day to honor our flag.  Think about it, dig up a flag of any size and post it.    A salute to our standard with liberty and justice for all .  I am thinking beans, hot dogs and hot apple pie for tomorrows dinner so go buy some hot dogs and join in the fun.   Laugh out loud, hug a friend, why even hug an enemy and make your seconds count.  Hugs to all.
