AAH!!!
The e-mail that came in today which brings to light the law of the wild and that is that "you only kill when you are hungry." The little impala met and captured the hearts of the Cheetahs and a new friendship developed. Great pictures, now let us hope the little one goes about its business before meal time. It just goes to show that best plans can change in the blink of an eye or is it that we live in high hope . . . but no one told us the end of that old adage . . . 'die in dispair'.
Well yesterday I didn't get to do the things I planned, but did things I didn't plan. I went to some yard sales. I haven't done that in quite awhile. There were just too many not to go out and see what treasures were out there. I love books of all kinds and found eight leatherette bound Louis L'Amour books in excellent condition. Well there was one that had water stains, but still readable. When daughter Patricia saw me carrying the books to the car she laughed and said she had a box full of the same books at home. Well, they turned out not to be the same ones but different titles so now I have sixteen wonderful Western stories to catch up on. All I have to do is find the time to read them. I now have three full bookcases of books I intend to read, so I guess I had better 'live in high hope' and forget that 'despair' part. If you run out of reading material, you know where to come.
There were a lot of treasures out there like the blown glass horses heads made by Heisey many years ago and Patricia, with the good eye for treasures, swooped them up. Not sure if they are book ends or not, but they really would make good ones. There seemed to be a lot of collector dolls out yesterday. I saw one of Shirley Temple that was in horrible condition and priced like it was a treasure. I would love to have bought it for the "Doll Lady' I met at the Fair so she could remake it into the beautiful doll it is meant to be. All in all, we trampled through some pathway roads and even an estate area on the ocean. It was the first time we got into and through the big gates to what I would call a compound, three homes all gated with a small green house and several large storage buildings. The prices went along with the 'manor house' and we left it all behind.
So today, if you feel like going out to a yard sale or two, don't be shy, there are some treasures left for you to find. The mismatched glasses or cups may be just what you need to replace a broken set you have had for years and need a replacement or two. Keep an eye open for the leatherette covered Louis L'Amour books as I know I don't have a complete set yet. I'm making a list, or will, once I find out how many are in the set . . . maybe twenty . . . and I have sixteen, now to find out the titles of the ones I need to 'yard-sale' for. Today is Sunday, all day, so make it a special day of rest and relaxation doing what YOU love to do best. Make those seconds work in your favor. Hugs to all.
