Dog Days

Good morning.    Here are a few folks pondering about the moving of a manufactured home and they crossed over a small country bridge, well they tried to cross and almost made it but you can see what happened.    The caption had to do with who would be responsible for the damage, the trucking company, the city, the county, the driver . . . we will never know.
Now this depicts the dog days of August.    that is some lazy dog, or a smart one who knows how to cool his heels in the hot weather.

I can hardly wait to hear from Paula on this one.  She has had a month or better of three digit temperatures and is ready for a break in the weather.     We had a strange day yesterday as it was almost the opposite of what has been going on.   Usually a morning fog which burns off and the sun comes out around four o'clock and stays until sunset.  Yesterday the sun was shining bright and early and stayed that way until mid morning when the fog eased in and stayed.    Bob, Andrea and I rode up to Whaleshead for fish and chips.   I had the chowder that is very tasty and then we stopped at Harris Beach and they had a walk on the beach while I had a walk on the new ramp style entrance to the sand.   I thought twice about walking all the way down to the beach area as it was all down hill and I knew I would have to walk back up and wasn't sure I'd make it.  I had my trusty camera and enjoyed taking pictures which I'll show you tomorrow.    We went on to Azalea Park where the Campanile By the Sea was opened and we visited with Marge Woodruf who was playing docent for the day.   Marge is a columnist for our local paper and a wonderful story teller.   It was a wonderful day and we even got all of the plants and bushes watered, both back and front yesterday. The new wand works very well.    That should have been enough for one day, but the dauntless threesome went off to the Nautical so that Bob and Andrea could have more fish.   If they have gills when they return inland, I wouldn't be surprised.    Andrea ordered the baked tuna special and from the ummm's and aah's, I would say it was delicious, while Bob had a baked cod dish and his plate was scraped to the bottom.  As for me I wanted fish and chips after seeing their lunch ones and my plate was more than filled.  I did leave a few french fries but the fish went down fast and oh so tasty.     There is no way I will ever hear those magic words, "Jean, you are so thin." not in this lifetime.   So my family cousins are going to leave me tomorrow as they go on to finish up their vacation time and I will suffer the empty nest syndrome once more.

So today, if you have company, enjoy them, as they leave much too soon    It is Thursday and the week has flown by 'faster than a speeding bullet', so don't waste your seconds . . . make them count in your favor.    Stay healthy, eat right and get off your duff and exercise.   A walk around the block will do you more good than harm.     I am off to enjoy my twosome for one more day and guess what, fish for dinner tonight, Jock is coming in to say hello and barbecue salmon tonight . . . YUM!   Hugs to all.
