Good Sunday morning. I thought this e-mail deserved a place on Sunday morning. Two churches across from one another with different viewpoints. They seem to be able to argue without rancor. Maybe we should introduce the pastors to our current leaders in Washington, D. C. and we could send along a few quotes to help them along, like: "Don't worry about avoiding temptation. As you grow older, it will avoid you." ---Winston Churchill. Or, "By the time man is wise enough to watch his step, he's too old to go anywhere." ---Billy Crystal.; and one I got a laugh from, "Someone said President Obama was wrong for telling the American people to call their representatives about debt ceiling. If there is one thing that Congressmen hate, it's being told what to do by the people that put them there." ----Jay Leno
So today, a beautiful summer Sunday, get up, get dressed and stop at the church of your choice. Light a few candles for those that are ill and suffering. Light one for those who have not worked for some time and need the economy to turn around. As for those that are gouging for all they can, remember that old Irish joke about asking that they who are mean spirited be blessed with a limp so we can recognize them....that's not asking a lot, just a bit of justice.
What are you going to do with your beautiful Sunday? We have the annual Art Festival, not as large, but some of the regular artisans showed up and they have some beautiful and artsy items from gorgeous oil paintings . . . one a desert scene with wild horses, reminding me of the wonderful high desert area of Nevada, but a price of five hundred which is reasonable for a work of art that is absolutely fantastic. No, you won't see it on my wall. The wind chimes made from old silver teapots and spoons that were hammered were interesting. I bought a tea kettle, hand painted, which was made into a bird house and cleverly done. It is going to be a beautiful day inside or out, just make good use of your seconds . . . visit someone who needs to see YOU, and bring them a tiny gift of yourself. Hugs to all.
