Promised Pictures

Andrea
Bob
Wish that cook would hurry up with my coffee.    Ah, early morning news at its best.
The new walk way at Harris Beach.  There they are on the beach ready for a walk.
Beach wild flowers both yellow and purple, very lovely.
The rock where the sea gulls gather.   Tourists climb this rugged path to the top, in beach shoes no less, followed by very small children which gives me goose bumps.   There should be a sign 'for sea gulls only'
The large elephant ear plant with it's special tubular flowers.   Very exotic
Here is Bob, the builder, checking out the construction of the Campanile at Azalea Park.   It is a beautiful building built by Elmo Williams, the Hollywood director of pictures like,"High Noon" and has an Oscar to prove it.   He is now 98 years old and going strong.   When his beloved wife, Lorraine died, he wanted to build something in her memory and the outcome is both beautiful and a special spot in our park. Many weddings are held here and the docents are always willing to tell the history.   Marge Woodruf, one of our local reporters was docent for the day and had several stories to tell us.
this is the view from the large window facing the City of Brookings.  A very peaceful spot to sit and rest and meditate for a second or two.

My guests are gone and the house is quiet, not that they were noisy, far from it as they are the 'good' kind of guests . . . family . . . you don't have to find something for them to do as they are very good about entertaining themselves.   Both have lap top computers and when they sat in my living room with their 'machines', I wondered if they were talking to each other....smile!!!  Well, they were not talking to me.    They are on the road today and off to see more sights and sounds and share a hug or two along the way.

So today, if your guests are leaving, I hope you had as much fun as I did with these two.    It is the first day of your weekend so let us hope that it is all you want it to be.    Take some of those precious seconds and share them with friends and family.    Use that computer wisely, send an I.M. message, an e-mail or a letter that you have to put a stamp on, you know one of those little squares that some people collect.  Brighten someones day, stop in and have a cup of tea or coffee and don't forget to bring a cookie with you as August summer days are not good baking days.    Whatever you choose to do this weekend be sure to smile while you are doing it.  Hugs to all.
